NEW YORK, NY (October 21, 2022) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the formation of its Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) group. Led by Principal Laura A. Mitchell, a key member of the firm’s Pay Equity and Affirmative Action, OFCCP and Government Contract Compliance groups, the ESG team aims to help clients navigate rapidly evolving concerns and priorities that often arise in the employer-employee relationship.
“As companies are increasingly being asked by regulators, investors, employees and the public about their position on ESG topics, we are ready to help clients assess and evaluate their policies and standards so they can take a thoughtful approach that is consistent with their culture and philosophies,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. "We are excited to be in this unique vantage point of supporting organizations committed to the intersectionality of citizen, business and government responsibilities that protect our community and planet.”
Jackson Lewis’ ESG group will collaborate with various practice and industry groups to seamlessly advise corporate boards and other stakeholders on how to set, reach and monitor their ESG-related goals, including advising on issues pertaining to corporate governance, crisis management, corporate social responsibility, DEI, ethics and compliance.
“Organizations are realizing the business need for sound, strategic, values-based governance; as a workplace law firm we are uniquely positioned to help them,” said Laura. “Today, companies are not only facing greater pressure to have an ESG framework by the public, but they are also under a close eye by regulators, investors and their workforce. Our ESG team is uniquely positioned to advise corporate boards and other stakeholders on the many ways they can demonstrate value for their employees.”
Members of the firm’s ESG group also include Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer Kimya S. P. Johnson, Monica H. Khetarpal and Michael D.
