Brian J. Shenker
Brian J. Shenker is a principal in the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in a wide range of workplace matters as well as preventive advice and counseling.
Brian has extensive experience defending class and collective action lawsuits under federal and state wage and hour laws. He has successfully defended wage and hour audits conducted by the U.S. and New York State Departments of Labor. Brian regularly handles cases before courts and administrative agencies involving claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. He has also represented management with respect to traditional labor matters, including proceedings involving unfair labor charges and union organization before the National Labor Relations Board, federal and state courts, and arbitration.
In addition to his litigation experience, Brian advises employers on compliance with a broad range of employment law matters by taking preemptive approaches. This includes advice and counsel with respect to Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law compliance, discrimination and FMLA compliance, as well as guidance related to New York’s sexual harassment laws. Brian’s practice also involves preparation and enforcement of restrictive covenants, including non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements.
