MINNEAPOLIS, MN (November 20, 2024) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Gina K. Janeiro has been inducted as a 2024 Fellow to The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers (CLEL). CLEL Fellows are esteemed members of the labor and employment community who have demonstrated a commitment to developing and excelling the practice. Gina was inducted at the College’s Annual Induction Dinner on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Pier Sixty in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, joining 10 Jackson Lewis colleagues who are also current fellows.

"I am incredibly proud to see Gina inducted as a Fellow of the College," said Firm Chair Kevin Lauri. “The CLEL embodies the highest standard of excellence and professionalism in labor and employment law, honoring those who not only achieve but also give back to strengthen the field. Gina’s dedication to these ideals makes her an outstanding addition, and we are honored to have her represent our firm in such a distinguished organization.”

Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by ones’ colleagues of continued outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and merit. Fellows must have at least 20 years of experience and a proven record of providing high-quality professional services to clients, the legal community and the public.  Additionally, Fellows must show both a dedication to advancing the objectives of the College and evidence of scholarship and/or teachings on Labor and Employment Law.

Gina is the managing principal and litigation manager of the firm’s Minneapolis office and is certified as a Labor and Employment Law specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association.  She represents clients in a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, noncompetition disputes and whistleblower cases, and she has effectively resolved complex disputes through counseling, appeals, mediations, arbitrations and litigation. As part of her practice, Gina also advises companies on all aspects of wage and hour law, such as classifying and calculating overtime and collective actions under Fair Labor Standards Act and similar state wage laws. She frequently helps employers conduct "self-audits" and has experience representing them in compliance investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor and other state agencies.

“Becoming a Fellow to an organization that stands for a deep commitment to the principles of excellence, integrity and civility in our profession is truly an honor,” said Gina. “Joining this CLEL allows me to approach labor and employment law in new ways, leveraging the additional support and resources that this prestigious organization offers for the benefit of my clients and the broader community.”

The CLEL is a prestigious organization of leading labor and employment law professionals, dedicated to fostering excellence in the field. Its mission is to promote achievement and advancement within the practice by upholding high standards of professionalism and civility and by serving as a resource of expertise for the bar, academia, government, the judiciary and the broader community.
