On September 30, 2018, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law a set of mandatory, significantly expanded anti-harassment training requirements and protections for California employees. Current law only mandates anti-harassment training for California supervisors for companies with 50 or more employees. By January 1, 2020, employers with five or more employees will be required to provide mandatory training to not only supervisory employees, but also nonsupervisory employees-greatly expanding the breadth of the legal requirements. Further, other provisions which were passed impose restrictions on employer release and non-disparagement agreements and expand on prior anti-harassment protections.
Join Jackson Lewis P.C. Principals Susan Groff and Nicky Jatana for this complimentary one-hour webinar on October 17, 2018. Susan and Nicky will discuss the highlights of the new laws to ensure California employers are prepared and ready to comply.
