Steven M. Zimmerman

Steven M. Zimmerman is a principal in the Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C.  Steve strives to help clients meet their long-term business goals by providing practical advice on traditional labor law matters. Steve’s experience on both sides of the bargaining table as well as his roles as in-house counsel and in private practice allows him to leverage his considerable knowledge into valuable insights for his clients.

A practitioner skilled in all facets of labor law, Steve has represented clients before the National Labor Relations Board, and state and federal courts. His experience extends to union-management relations, including representation matters, collective bargaining and advising on the administration of labor agreements.  Steve has also successfully defended employers in complex labor disputes before arbitrators.

Drawing on his background as the Director of Labor Relations at Walt Disney Pictures and labor counsel for Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Steve has firsthand knowledge of both the commonplace and complex issues employers in this industry face. Steve uses this intelligence to proactively address his clients’ needs in a variety of industries with a particular emphasis on entertainment and media companies.

Steve’s representation in workplace law matters encompasses litigation outside traditional labor disputes including representing employers and individuals in employment litigation related to sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes and matters involving unfair competition and restrictive covenants.

Outside of work, Steve is an avid tennis player and enjoys cooking.
