Porter S. Young is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C., where he focuses on U.S. immigration visa compliance and outbound immigration.  With extensive experience in helping clients effectively navigate complex legal landscapes, Porter is dedicated to providing clear, reasoned advice to meet his clients’ needs. 

Porter is also actively involved in training and advising organizations on best practices for global mobility issues. Known for his positive attitude and strong work ethic, he has earned the trust of his clients as a reliable partner in their legal matters. An immigrant himself, Porter served as a student-attorney in the Immigration Clinical Program while in law school, helping others navigate the complexities of immigration laws and processes with the insight that comes from personal experience. As a practicing immigration attorney his goal remains constant: provide clients with straightforward, reasoned advice, regardless of the complexity of the issue involved.

Before joining the firm, Porter served in the Republic of China (Taiwan) Army. Porter also participated in the firm’s Summer Clerk Program and spent a full year working as the Nonpartisan Law Clerk with a U.S. Senate Committee. Porter was the Student Speaker for both of his college and law school’s university-wide commencements.

With academic experience in Taiwan, Australia, and the United States, Porter brings a global perspective to his work, making him a trusted advisor for clients navigating cross-border compliance needs.
