Paul J. Cohen

Paul J. Cohen is a principal in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in all types of workplace law matters.

Paul has more than a decade of experience litigating a wide range of labor and employment claims including single plaintiff wrongful termination cases, complex wage and hour class actions, and representative actions under California’s Private Attorneys General Act. Paul also provides proactive counseling to employers and helps clients navigate the challenges of complying with the constantly evolving landscape of California employment law.

Paul represents employers across a variety of industries, including but not limited to hospitality, entertainment, retail, and construction. Paul strives to develop tailored defense strategies that align with each client’s specific business needs.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Paul clerked for judges on the Los Angeles County Superior Court where he was responsible for the daily law and motion calendars in the nation's largest trial court system. Paul draws upon his firsthand knowledge of judicial decision making to execute optimal litigation strategies and obtain favorable outcomes for his clients. Paul’s client successes include prevailing on dispositive motions at the pleading and summary judgment phases, and defeating class certification.
