Michael Moffat is a principal in the Indianapolis office of Jackson Lewis, P.C. For more than 30 years, Mike has honed his advocacy skills in settings from the conference room to the courtroom.

Immersing himself in the practice of labor and employment law, Michael’s defends employers against a wide range of employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, non-compete disputes and Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions. Clients benefit from his courtroom experience, and he has represented clients in Federal and State jury and bench trials, agency hearings and arbitrations.

Michael’s in-house counsel experience provides additional insight when counseling employers to avoid legal disputes in the first instance. Michael works to develop practical solutions for clients that minimize risk and deliver results. Michael offers training on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination laws.

Recognized beyond the work he does for clients, Michael has chaired the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum’s Labor and Employment Law Update and spoken at industry events, including those hosted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Michael has delivered numerous seminar presentations for CNO Financial Group, addressing critical topics such as sexual harassment, unfair competition and independent contractor classification. He is a longstanding member of the Indiana and Indianapolis bar associations, and has served in leadership roles within the bar, the business community and the Indianapolis community at large.
