Marco A. Garcia
Marco A. Garcia is an associate in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
Marco brings a wealth of varied professional and leadership experience. His experience makes him the perfect ally when dealing with your employment matters. Whether it is dealing with Fortune 500 companies to mom-and-pop shops and non-profits, Marco is eager and ready to assist.
Prior to law school, Marco worked as a human resource information systems supervisor for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, where he managed departmental personnel staffing needs, participated in recruitment and selection programs, formulated and implemented new resources/personnel policies, delivered oral presentations, oversaw the payroll department and much more.
While in law school, Marco had the opportunity to expand his experience by working in highly coveted internships, including working for a local boutique law firm where he gained experience defending employers in employment matters. Marco also interned for the San Diego District Attorney’s office, where he sharpened his litigation skills, externed with the Honorable Linda Lopez, a District Court Judge for the Southern District of California, and worked for the San Diego City Attorney’s office as a post-bar and attorney where he further developed his litigation skills.
While in law school, Marco was a recipient of multiple awards and distinctions, including a Distinguished Advocate award, for his excellence in Alternate Dispute Resolution; was 1 of 26 law students in the State of California to be selected for a highly competitive California ChangeLawyers Scholarship; earned multiple San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association scholarships, including a Bar stipend; and was selected as a Diversity Fellow by the San Diego County Bar Association.
Marco enjoys being involved in his community. Currently, Marco is part of the Executive Team for San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and its Public Benefit Fund. Marco also actively coordinates and participates in events for Latinas in the Law. Marco was also selected and appointed to the 2023 San Diego County Bar Association Leadership Outreach Committee. While in law school, Marco was president of the Latinx Law Student Association, was 1 of 3 students selected to be part of the Faculty Appointment Committee and was selected to assist the Hispanic National Bar Association Judicial Vetting process.
During his free time Marco enjoys spending time with family, friends and five dogs. Marco routinely works out and enjoys long hikes. Recently, Marco hiked Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, and Yosemite’s Half Dome.
