Kathleen H. Bailey
Kathleen (Kathy) Bailey is of counsel in the Cincinnati, Ohio office of Jackson Lewis, P.C. She has over 30 years of experience, nearly exclusively litigating employment matters before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, in state and federal courts, and before the state civil service commission.
Kathy has extensive experience in the following: litigating wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases under state and federal law, including but not limited to Title VII, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the State of Ohio Civil Rights Act; advising clients on all matters related to employment including compliance with applicable laws and best practices; drafting employee handbooks and policies; and negotiating settlement agreements.
Kathy honed her litigation skills while serving for 32 years at the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Civil Division. It was while she served in that role that Kathy was struck by the profound, personal impact on the organization and supervisors/managers of baseless claims of harassment, discrimination or retaliation and felt a great responsibility to defend her clients vigorously. Kathy took great pride in her success in this role in advising County clients regarding all matters related to employment so as to avoid unnecessary litigation and negative outcomes.
Kathy’s strong commitment to her community is evident in the time she has spent serving in many voluntary civil government positions, including Mayor of Loveland, Ohio, President of the Clermont County Mayor’s Association, elected member of the Clermont County 911 Program Committee, and appointed member of the Clermont County Local Emergency Planning Committee. She brings this dedication to people and organizations she believes in and to her work as an employment lawyer and lives those values with a daily client-first mindset.
