José L. Maymí-González is an associate in the San Juan, Puerto Rico, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

José advises clients on such matters as employment contract and policy drafting, administration of statutory leaves, and termination litigation. He represents clients in federal, state, and administrative forums, including the EEOC and its local counterpart. With a solid understanding of the issues, José strives to pair sound legal strategy with practical solutions. This, coupled with his steadfast focus to provide the best service to clients, shapes José’s approach to employment matters.

During law school, José clerked at the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security at the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor. Further, he worked as digital director of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review and participated in various moot court competitions. José is also proud to have been a member in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he served as an infantryman with distinction. These past experiences have provided him with a variety of skills that he employs in the advocacy of clients’ interests.
