Erica J. Bury is an associate in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Erica partners with her clients to understand their circumstances and perspectives when assessing how to approach litigation.

Erica’s practice covers the spectrum of employment litigation, including federal and state claims, individual and class action lawsuits, and matters before the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission.

She has handled cases involving claims of race, age, disability, and sex discrimination, as well as breach of contract, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, and wage-hour claims. Erica also routinely litigates Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”) lawsuits involving alleged violations of the BIPA in state and federal courts in Illinois. In addition, Erica defends employers and businesses in claims of disability discrimination arising under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

While attending law school, Erica served as Executive Editor of Illinois Articles of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal, and since graduating has taught legal writing as an adjunct professor at Loyola. Erica applies her writing and communication skills to her relationships with her clients and to best advocate on her clients’ behalf.
