Dion Cassata is an attorney in the Miami, Florida office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters at all stages of litigation, as well as providing preventive advice and counseling, and assisting employers with complying with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Dion advises and represents employers across a wide range of industries, and handles cases in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration and at the federal and state administrative/agency level. These cases routinely involve allegations of discrimination and harassment (including claims arising under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FCRA and Florida law), FLSA wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, whistleblower and retaliation claims, non-compete/restrictive covenant issues, breach of contract, as well as issues related to employment and severance agreements and reductions in force. Dion has extensive experience with Florida and federal employment statutes, case management, pre-suit analysis, discovery, dispositive motion practice, mediation and trial.
Dion received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Prior to attending law school, Dion worked as a general assignment and news reporter with the Chicago Tribune.
