Daniel (“Dan”) A. Goode is of counsel in the Cincinnati office of Jackson Lewis, P.C. His practice is centered on representing employers on traditional labor law matters in both union and non-union settings. His entire career dedicated to labor relations, Dan has over a decade of experience at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) investigating and litigating unfair labor practice (ULP) charges, handling Section 10(j) injunction proceedings, and processing petitions through every stage of the R-Case process.

A passionate labor lawyer, Dan was drawn to this area of the law through his work as an Executive Editor of The Labor Lawyer journal (now the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law), an internship at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Office of Federal Operations, and in law school through his work as a research assistant to his labor law professor.

Dan leverages his passion for the field and his 13 years of experience at the NLRB to partner with clients to solve a myriad of issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act (the Act). By connecting with clients to learn and understand their business, Dan provides effective counsel specific to each client’s circumstance, whether working towards a quick resolution or putting up a fervent defense. Dan counsels clients through all phases of NLRB proceedings, from initial ULP charge defense to litigation of complaints before Administrative Law Judges and the NLRB. Should an employer be served with a petition by a union seeking to represent its employees, Dan is adept at navigating through the intricacies of the NLRB’s R-case process.

For employers with preexisting union relationships, Dan assists with contract administration matters and represents those clients in grievance and arbitration proceedings. He also works with employers to develop positive employee relations plans, identifying areas of their workforces that may be vulnerable to “micro-unit” organizing, and offering strategic, targeted advice to resolve vulnerabilities.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending as much time outdoors with his family as possible, whether it be skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, or playing golf. Dan also enjoys volunteering as a youth baseball coach for the Anderson Township (Ohio) Little League.
