Angelika Avagian is an associate in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Applying her diverse experience in high-stakes litigation, business affairs, and entertainment law that she gained during her time in law school and post-bar examination, Angelika brings a comprehensive approach to labor and employment matters, offering clients insightful, strategic legal guidance on issues ranging from union negotiations and employee rights to complex employment litigation and compliance matters.

Optimizing her track record of drafting and negotiating high-stakes contracts, advising clients on labor issues within the context of the entertainment sector, and conducting in-depth legal research on compliance matters affecting both established media companies and emerging digital platforms, Angelika is focused on leveraging her skills to benefit employers by providing advice and counsel on labor and employment law issues. Her analytical mindset, combined with strong communication and negotiation skills, enables her to navigate the intricacies of labor and employment laws with both precision and empathy.

As a law student, Angelika served as an extern for the Honorable Neil W. Bason in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and for the Honorable Dolly M. Gee in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where she evaluated cases involving copyright infringement, anti-SLAPP laws, and defamation, giving her a keen insight into entertainment litigation and how it intersects with employment and labor law.

While in law school, Angelika worked as a business affairs intern for the Walt Disney Company. Angelika also worked as a law clerk for a large law firm specializing in entertainment, technology, and advertising law. She also served as an editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review and was a research assistant to the Director of the Entertainment and Media Institute and to the Theodore A. Bruinsma Fellow. Prior to attending law school, Angelika served as an intern for Congresswoman Nanette D. Barragan’s office on Capitol Hill.
