John D. Prendergast

John D. Prendergast is of counsel in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. John is a litigator and trial advocate who provides clients with results-oriented, cost-effective representation and advice. 

John defends employers in disputes related to all aspects of the employment relationship, including wrongful termination, harassment, and discrimination claims in courts and administrative forums across New England. John’s approach aligns with employers’ priorities of risk mitigation, reputational preservation, and efficiency. John advises and represents employers in industries including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, life sciences, manufacturing, and construction. 

John’s passion for labor and employment predates his legal career. Before attending law school and graduate business school, John worked for a community-based job placement service provider to develop mutually beneficial relationships between employers and job seekers who faced significant barriers to employment. John gained an understanding that employment is the bedrock of individual, organizational, and community success, and now applies that perspective in his legal practice.
