Jackson Lewis Names Jonathan R. Shank Office Managing Principal in Boston

BOSTON, MA (April 10, 2025) — Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Jonathan R. Shank has been appointed as the office managing principal (OMP) in Boston. Jonathan focuses his practice on all aspects of employment law, including litigation and advice and counseling. Prior to stepping into his new role as OMP, Jonathan served as the office litigation manager (OLM) since 2023 and has led the Boston office’s recruiting efforts. He succeeds Jeffrey S. Brody, who served as OMP in Boston since 2017 and hands over the leadership reins to Jonathan to focus more on his active practice and other firmwide responsibilities. Principal Jamie L. Kessler will assume the role of OLM.

“Jonathan’s deep ties to the Boston community and his understanding of the region’s unique workplace challenges make him the perfect fit for this role,” said Kevin Lauri, firm chair. “He’s consistently shown incredible leadership, fostering collaboration, mentorship and providing top-notch service to our clients. I’m confident he’ll guide the office to continued success in the years ahead.”

Since joining the firm in 2015, Jonathan has represented employers in a wide range of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts and key administrative agencies.  Jonathan has secured excellent results defending clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, as well as cases involving restrictive covenants and trade secrets. Jonathan’s extensive litigation practice also enables him to provide strategic advice to employers on important workplace-related challenges. He regularly counsels clients on day-to-day employment issues, including their rights and obligations under federal and state employment laws. He also provides guidance to employers on matters related to employee discipline, internal investigations, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force, disability management, leaves of absence, employee handbooks, and restrictive covenant agreements.

"I’m excited to lead our Boston office as we continue to grow and meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said Jonathan. “My focus will be on strengthening our team, building lasting client relationships, and ensuring we deliver the highest level of service and support."

Jonathan earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
