Jackson Lewis Honored with Fifth Consecutive "Tipping the Scales" Award for Gender Parity

NEW YORK, NY (November 19, 2024) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce its recognition as a “Tipping the Scales” firm by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s 2024 New Partner Report. Jackson Lewis was one of 82 law firms honored at the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s Annual Conference in Washington D.C., for having at least 50 percent women in its 2024 new partner class. This marks the fifth consecutive time the firm has received the award since its inception in 2019.

“We are incredibly honored to once again receive the ‘Tipping the Scales’ recognition for our most recent class of principals,” said Firm Chair Kevin Lauri. “At Jackson Lewis, we believe that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are not just values we uphold, but essential components of our success. We will continue to strive for a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to our collective achievements.”

The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s New Partner Report is an annual analysis of data from over 200 of the nation’s largest and highest-grossing law firms regarding attorneys promoted to partnership. The report specifically examines the gender distribution of these new partners in an effort to promote gender equity in law firm promotion processes.

“Jackson Lewis’ success, both organizationally and with our clients, is deeply rooted in realizing our commitment to inclusive and flexible practices,” said Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Principal Kimya S.P. Johnson. “We prioritize equity as a firm value and intentionally work to build and enhance firm systems that ensure everyone can thrive. This continued recognition as a ‘Tipping the Scales’ firm helps us drive accountability and innovation in our firmwide DEI efforts, which we welcome.”

Kimya Johnson was a featured panelist at the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s New Partner Summit on November 18, 2024. The event will highlight specific recommendations, strategies, and best practices to promote gender diversity, with insights from DEI and talent leaders from top organizations on fostering inclusive workplaces.
