CHICAGO, IL (November 19, 2024) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Kirsten A. Milton has been elevated to Chicago office managing principal (OMP). Kirsten succeeds Nadine C. Abrahams, who is stepping down after four years of service to focus on her growing practice and client development efforts. Alison B. Crane will assume the role of office litigation manager (OLM) and Neil H. Dishman has been reappointed as the office business development liaison.
"Illinois is a critical hub for employment litigation, and Kirsten and Alison’s distinguished legal careers and demonstrated commitment to the firm make them ideally suited to lead our Chicago office," said Firm Chair Kevin Lauri. "Their strategic focus and clear vision for the office's future gives us great confidence in their ability to enhance our presence in the region. We thank Nadine for her years of service and dedication as OMP and congratulate Kirsten, Alison and Neil on their new roles.”
Kirsten is licensed in Illinois and Nevada and focuses her practice on representing management across the spectrum of labor and employment issues. She regularly defends employers in class and collective action litigation arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state wage-and-hour laws, as well as systemic discrimination claims arising under Title VII and other statutory and common law theories. Kirsten frequently represents employers in single-plaintiff and multi-party litigation arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She also has extensive experience handling matters with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Nevada Equal Rights Commission and various other state fair employment agencies.
“I am honored to take the reins in Chicago,” said Kirsten. “Nadine’s tenure saw the office through a global pandemic and a transition to a hybrid work environment, all while achieving continued growth. Her contributions have been instrumental to our presence in the region, and we plan to build upon the solid foundation she has laid. I am eager to work with our team to continue strengthening our standing as an industry leader in employment law.”
In addition to her litigation practice, Kirsten routinely counsels clients on day-to-day employment issues, such as litigation-avoidance measures, personnel policies and procedures, severance agreements and employee hiring, discipline and discharge.
