Sander R. Weiner

Sander R. Weiner is an associate in the Jacksonville, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on training and representing employers in wide range of workplace law matters, including labor and employment litigation and preventive advice and counseling. Sander serves his clients by providing not only his legal skills and experiences, but also his practical real-world experience. As a well-seasoned prior restaurant worker and former non-commissioned Army officer, he has spent the majority of his life in service of others. Prior to graduating law school, Sander had worked in nearly every position a restaurant has to offer, giving him key insights when defending restaurant and hospitality clients in labor and employment matters. Sander joined the Army in the weeks following 9/11 and served with the 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment in Iraq. As a proud combat veteran and devoted father of two, he is no stranger to hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to a cause.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Sander obtained experience in both civil litigation and labor union matters. He has considerable experience union matters, collective bargaining, and labor arbitrations, having begun his career as a labor attorney representing law enforcement officers in Chicago and throughout Illinois. During his tenure there, Sander negotiated and drafted dozens of collective bargaining agreements, argued countless grievance arbitrations, conducted witness interviews, and assisted in workplace investigations. Sander’s study of traditional labor and employment law assists his defense of clients facing a myriad of challenging claims. Having experience representing both employees and employers, Sander is able to provide a comprehensive perspective to effectively represent clients.

After returning to Florida, Sander joined a national civil defense law firm and represented clients in defense of civil claims such as personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, construction defect, negligent security, professional malpractice, and general negligence. In that capacity, he obtained valuable litigation skills, including trial counsel experience, arguing substantive motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing expert and lay witnesses for trial.

Sander is an experienced litigator and aggressively defends his clients. However, he takes a hands-on approach and guidance in order to help clients prevent and resolve disputes before they go to trial.
