NEW YORK, NY (June 28, 2024) – Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the firm has secured the #14 spot on The American Lawyer’s Diversity Scorecard, marking a significant rise of 12 places from its 2023 ranking. The Scorecard evaluates law firms based on their diversity scores, taking into account the percentage of minority attorneys overall, as well as in partner and leadership positions within each firm.

“We take great pride in Jackson Lewis’ dedication to breaking down barriers for underrepresented groups in the legal profession, yet acknowledge there is much more to accomplish,” said Firm Chair Kevin Lauri. “We recognize that diversity among attorneys is essential for authentically reflecting the clients we serve. By fostering a workplace culture centered on respect, continuous learning, fairness and inclusion, we enhance our ability to advocate effectively for our clients and mitigate workplace challenges."

The Women in Law Scorecard was published for the first time this year as part of The American Lawyer’s Diversity Scorecard. This ranking is based on the percentages of women attorneys overall and in partnership and leadership positions at each firm. Jackson Lewis improved its position to #15 on the 2024 Women’s Scorecard, climbing three spots from the previous year.

"Jackson Lewis has long upheld diversity, equity and inclusion as core firm values and we have focused on ways to realize those values firmwide,” said Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer and Principal Kimya S.P Johnson. “These rankings highlight our commitment to ensure systems of equity for all, and they affirm our ongoing efforts in fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging. Our diversity strengthens our ability to serve our clients and the communities where we live and work, and we welcome this recognition.”

The Diversity Scorecard evaluates firms using a range of metrics to assess their racial and ethnic diversity across lawyer headcount by role, leadership positions in the executive committee, offices, practice and industry groups, as well as their hiring, retention and promotion of diverse talent. The Diversity Score is determined by combining scores from sections including leadership, talent management, equity partner and nonequity partner, associate and other attorney roles.
