Timothy C. Dougherty is an associate in the Cincinnati, Ohio, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers and institutions in workplace law matters, including litigation, preventive advice, and counseling.  

Tim defends employers of all sizes in federal and state court, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration proceedings.  He has experience litigating cases involving discrimination, retaliation, leave management, public policy claims, wage-and-hour violations, defamation, breaches of employment agreements, and disputes in enforcing collective bargaining agreements.  Tim also has experience representing companies in collective action and class action disputes. As a member of the firm’s COVID-19 Taskforce, Tim also is involved in defending and advising companies in COVID-19 vaccine litigation.

In addition to his litigation practice, Tim counsels employers on a variety of employment matters, including restrictive covenants and non-compete issues, wage-and-hour compliance, employee benefits compliance, internal investigations, and employment agreements.
Tim also has experience representing companies and individuals in complex litigation in a variety of areas, including disputes regarding trade secret and intellectual property rights, breaches of commercial agreements, and financial services disputes.

During law school, Tim was a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review and student adviser to the Vanderbilt moot court team. He also served as an intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee and the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office.
