The U.S. Department of Labor recently issued its long-awaited proposed rule updating the minimum salary for the FLSA’s white-collar exemptions. The proposed rule will increase the standard salary level for exempt white collar employees by almost $20,000.
Join Justin Barnes and Jeffrey Brecher, leaders of the Jackson Lewis P.C. Wage and Hour Practice Group, as they discuss the proposed rule, the possible effective date for a final rule, potential legal challenges and what employers should be doing now to prepare for the rule, including possible reclassification and employee communications.
