Leslie Boro is an associate in the Portland, Oregon office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including litigation, dispute resolution and preventative advice and counsel. Leslie works with employers on a variety of workplace issues from advising and defending discrimination and harassment, reasonable accommodation, protected leave and pay equity matters to providing general advice and counsel.
A cornerstone of Leslie’s approach to client service is her ability to imbed herself into her clients’ teams and act as a business partner, rather than a third-party advisor. Before joining Jackson Lewis, she led the legal and human resources departments at a Portland-based technology, telecommunications and construction company serving Oregon and Washington. During her tenure Leslie managed all aspects of the company’s legal and human resources needs including: divestitures and acquisitions, intellectual property protection, data privacy matters, reasonable accommodations policies, protected leave compliance, employee performance management, reductions in force, workplace investigations, and adverse actions. She has also designed and implemented incentives programs such as commissions and phantom stock plans and bonus programs, pay equity programs, and corporate discrimination, harassment and diversity training.
As former operational leader Leslie has been in management’s shoes. She understands the realities of the financial, economic, and human factors leaders balance and has made the same tough management decisions. Leslie’s multi-disciplinary experience enables her to closely partner with her clients to develop practical and informed legal solutions that balance the realities and needs of the business.
When Leslie is not at work you can find her racing in local rally-cross and auto-cross events, cleaning up trash in public lands, bird watching, or photographing wildlife throughout the Pacific Northwest with her husband and four dogs.
