Jackson Lewis Opens New Hawai`i-Based Firm; Expands Services Available to Hawai`i Employers and Existing Clients Doing Business in Hawai`i

WHITE PLAINS, NY (April 21, 2015) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the opening of the Hawai'i-based Jackson Lewis P.C., a Law Corporation. This new Honolulu firm will facilitate access to the national firm’s vast resources for local Hawai'i clients and existing national clients who have operations in Hawai'i. 

The new firm is home to Hawai'i lawyers Andrew L. Pepper and Wayne S. Yoshigai, both of whom are outstanding attorneys with extensive experience representing and defending employers doing business throughout the state of Hawai'i. Other experienced lawyers are expected to be added in the near future. 

Matters in Hawai'i will at all times be under the direct professional supervision of Mr. Pepper, Mr. Yoshigai or other members of the Hawai'i Bar, while Jackson Lewis P.C. lawyers throughout the U.S. will be available as consultants within their areas of expertise.

Mr. Pepper is an experienced employment litigator who has been practicing in Hawai'i for over 25 years. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for his work in the practice areas of Employment Law-Management, and Litigation-Labor and Employment for 2015. Mr. Pepper regularly represents employers in administrative and judicial proceedings, including litigation in state and federal courts, in all aspects of workplace law, including harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, plant closure, and workplace violence. By delegated Presidential appointment, Mr. Pepper also serves as the Hawai'i State Director of the U.S. Selective Service System. Mr. Pepper graduated from the William S. Richardson School of Law, where he served as the Executive Editor of the University of Hawai'i Law Review.

Mr. Yoshigai has practiced management employment and labor law in Hawai'i for almost 30 years. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his work in the practice areas of Employment Law-Management, Labor Law-Management, and Litigation-Labor and Employment. Mr. Yoshigai regularly represents Hawai'i and national employers in administrative and judicial proceedings, including mediation and arbitration in union and non-union settings and litigation in federal and state courts, in all aspects of workplace law. He specializes in the day-to-day management of complex employment situations. Mr. Yoshigai received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in History and Literature from Claremont McKenna College and his Juris Doctorate from George Washington University.
