This award recognizes legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality. Mr. Nelson and his fellow recipients will be honored at the 25th Anniversary Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair in San Francisco, California.

Mr. Nelson is a member of the firm's Affirmative Action Practice Group, in which he advises federal contractor clients in the preparation of affirmative action plans and defends against allegations of discrimination in connection with audits by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and related litigation.
In addition to participation in Jackson Lewis’ LGBT Resource Group, Mr. Nelson is an active member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce-New York (NGLCCNY) and the NGLCCNY Legal Industry Council, the ABA Young Lawyers Division’s liaison to the ABA’s Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, and part of the National LGBT Bar Association’s affiliate group for LGBT Lawyers in the Greater New York area.
