Misti Mukherjee Appointed Chairman of the Board of Northern Virginia Family Service

Washington, D.C. (July 1, 2013)- Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that Washington, D.C. Region Partner Misti Mukherjee has been named Chairman of the Board of Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), a non-profit community service organization.  Ms. Mukherjee, who previously served on the NVFS Board of Directors as Secretary, assumed her new role on July 1, 2013.

“I am very appreciative of the opportunity to serve as NVFS Chairman of the Board,” said Ms. Mukherjee.  “At a time when the most vulnerable in our community are facing even more limited resources, NVFS and its partners continue to support and transform the lives of our neighbors.  I am privileged to be a steward of an organization that enables tens of thousands of individuals and families to find new paths to self-reliance and brighter futures.”

In addition to her extensive involvement with NVFS, Ms. Mukherjee has been a leader in many other professional and community organizations, including the Executive Women’s Roundtable, Inc., the HR Leadership Forum and the CARE (Companies as Responsive Employers) Awards Advisory Board. She has twice served as a Judge for the HR Leaderships Awards of Greater Washington, and she is a Past President of The Madeira School Alumnae Association, a past Trustee of The Madeira School, and a current member of Marymount University’s Reston Campus Advisory Board.

Ms. Mukherjee’s professional accolades include being named one of the “Top 25 Women Attorneys” in Virginia by Richmond Magazine two years in a row and one of the 2010 “50 Influential Women of Virginia” by Virginia Lawyer’s Media. She has repeatedly been named one of Virginia’s Labor and Employment “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business Magazine.
