WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., (June 14, 2013) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has been recognized as a “Gold Standard Firm” by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for the second year in a row. This designation is reserved for large firms that have successfully integrated female attorneys into their top leadership positions.
“We are proud of Jackson Lewis’ recruitment efforts and the promotion of women within our firm, and we are honored to once again be recognized by WILEF,” said Vincent A. Cino, Firm Chairman. “We firmly believe the achievement of women within our firm has been a key to our growth and success over the years, and recognize the importance of continuing to build and nourish a workplace where women can thrive.”
To meet WILEF’s requirements for Gold Standard designation, Jackson Lewis successfully showed that female attorneys are well represented among its equity partners and hold key leadership positions, including on governance and compensation committees, and that the firm recognizes the contributions of women through compensation.
Jackson Lewis has been at the forefront in fostering the promotion of women in the legal profession, most notably through the firm’s annual employment law conference for women in-house counsel and human resources executives. The firm’s Women's Interest Network (WIN) supports and encourages the success of women at the firm by, among other things, working to create new business and leadership opportunities. This year, WIN expanded upon its mentoring capabilities by initiating the Jackson Lewis Master’s Series, a monthly hour-long conference call where attorneys and staff from all of Jackson Lewis’ 53 locations are encouraged to dial-in and listen to a pre-designated Jackson Lewis “Master” answer questions relating to client development and effective work habits.
“We are very proud of our re-certification as a Gold Standard Firm,” said Susan M. Corcoran, a WIN Chair and Partner in the firm’s White Plains, NY office. “We could not have achieved this distinction without both the full support of our firm’s leadership and the efforts of our many talented female attorneys who serve as active leaders and participants in bar associations and business organizations nationwide. We remain committed to creating new opportunities and policies that allow our female attorneys to advance within the firm.”
