Michael Taylor Named 'Influential Leader' in Environment, Health and Safety Field

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 6, 2013) Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that Washington, D.C. Region Partner Michael Taylor has been named by EHS Today as one of the 50 Most Influential EHS Leaders.  The list recognizes individuals whom the editors of the publication feel had the most impact on occupational safety, health, the environment and risk management in 2012-2013.

EHS Today informs safety, health and industrial hygiene professionals in the manufacturing, construction, and service sectors about trends, management strategies, regulatory news and new products that help them provide safe and healthy work sites.

Mr. Taylor focuses his practice exclusively on workplace safety and health law.  He represents employers and trade associations during federal and state OSHA enforcement litigation and rulemaking proceedings, as well as during Chemical Safety Board investigations.  Mr. Taylor also has experience representing employers with respect to matters involving the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and represents offshore oil and gas companies with respect to matters involving the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.  He provides government inspection counseling, safety and health compliance counseling,  crisis management, and whistleblower representation, and conducts accident investigations, safety and health audits, and safety and health due diligence reviews. 

Mr. Taylor previously served as General Counsel of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, the federal administrative agency in charge of adjudicating safety and health workplace disputes between OSHA and private industry.  He also served as Chief Legal Counsel and Special Advisor to W. Scott Railton, Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.  Mr. Taylor is a contributing commentator for the Bureau of National Affairs’ Occupational Safety and Health Reporter on current occupational safety and health law issues.  He is a member of both the American Bar Association Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee and the Oil and Gas Committee.  Mr. Taylor is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the State of Georgia.
