Los Angeles Attorney Townsend Receives National Diversity Award

National workplace law firm Jackson Lewis congratulates Los Angeles Associate Camille Y. Townsend for her selection as one of the Nation's Best Advocates: 40 Attorneys Under 40, a national honor recognizing the top 40 attorneys under the age 40 “within the African American legal community who have achieved prominence and distinction, professionally and philanthropically."  Camille will be honored at the National Bar Association’s annual conference in Las Vegas, NV on July 15.
 
At Jackson Lewis, Camille represents management in all types of employment disputes including, sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and retaliation claims in both state and federal court, arbitration as well as in administrative hearings.  In addition, she routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices, including employment contracts and employee handbooks, discharge and discipline.  She also conducts employee and management training seminars, workplace investigations, and frequently speaks on employment-related topics.

Camille is the President-Elect of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. and is an active member of the John M. Langston Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  She also is on the board of directors for Lets Erase the Stigma (LETS), a national nonprofit dedicated to erasing the stigma of mental illness.
