Jackson Lewis Expands in Houston

HOUSTON, TX (April 9, 2012) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that Ruthie N. White and Will Stukenberg have joined the firm’s Houston office as Partner and Of Counsel, respectively.  Both attorneys were formerly with employment law boutique Meyer White LLP, which was co-founded by Ms. White.

Ms. White has more than two decades of legal practice and business experience.  Prior to founding Meyer White, Ms. White practiced employment law as a Partner at Jones Day, where she had an active trial practice handling cases for a variety of multinational employers in state and federal courts.  She also served for 12 years as a human resources manager and in-house counsel at Conoco, Inc.   Ms. White, who has been named a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers, regularly advises employers on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including policy drafting, investigation of alleged employee misconduct, implementation of disciplinary and job performance procedures and development of selection criteria for reductions in force.

She has served as an employment law adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law and on the boards of non-profit organizations including the Association of Women Attorneys Foundation and the Fort Bend County Women’s Center.  Ms. White is a founder of The Downtown Group, a 200-member networking organization of African American female attorneys, and contributes to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.   She earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law, where she was a member of the South Texas Law Review, a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and her M.B.A. from the University of Houston.  She is admitted to practice in Texas.

Mr. Stukenberg, who previously worked at Jones Day and Littler Mendelson before joining Meyer White, is an experienced trial attorney who has litigated virtually every type of workplace dispute in numerous forums.  His litigation experience ranges from employment discrimination claims to noncompetition agreements/breach of contract claims to ERISA violations.  He has an active class action practice and has successfully defended numerous lawsuits alleging FLSA violations.
 
Mr. Stukenberg was named a 2012 “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers.  He received his J.D. summa cum laude from South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review, and his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is admitted to practice in Texas.
