Jackson Lewis Adds Partner in New York

NEW YORK, NY (February 7, 2012) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that Joanne Seltzer has joined the firm’s New York City office as Partner.  Ms. Seltzer began her legal career as an Associate at Jackson Lewis and rejoins the firm from Sidley Austin, where she represented primarily financial companies in employment matters, including state and federal claims of discrimination and harassment, individual and class action suits in courts and arbitral forums and common law claims such as breach of contract and workplace torts.

Ms. Seltzer also routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices, aided by her years of experience as a Human Resources Director prior to becoming an attorney.  She regularly conducts employment training seminars, due diligence and Human Resources audits and internal investigations and frequently speaks on employment-related topics.

Ms. Seltzer is a member of the American Bar Association and its Section of Labor and Employment Law, the New York Bar Association and the Society of Human Resource Management.  She is admitted to practice in the states of New York and Colorado, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Ms Seltzer received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo, her M.A. at the University of Connecticut and her J.D. from the Hofstra University School of Law.
