Minneapolis, MN (November 14, 2011) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, announced that Randall Ohm has joined the firm’s Minneapolis office as Of Counsel.  Mr. Ohm has over 32 years of experience practicing in all aspects of traditional labor law and labor-management relations focused primarily on the Railway Labor Act.

David J. Duddleston, Managing Partner of the firm’s Minneapolis office, said, “Besides adding significant labor expertise to our growing transportation industry capabilities, Randall’s arrival brings added breadth and depth to our already strong Minnesota team. We are pleased to be able to better serve our clients, and are very happy to have him on board.”

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Ohm served as Labor Counsel and Senior Labor Counsel for 28 years at Northwest Airlines, Inc., and Delta Air Lines, Inc., handling all aspects of labor-management relations: advising management at all levels regarding the contractual/legal ramifications of key policy decisions as well as daily company actions subject to the collective bargaining agreements, labor and employment laws; investigating employee misconduct and recommending appropriate disciplinary action; developing and conducting management training seminars, and resolving employee complaints through the grievance process and arbitration.

Mr. Ohm acted as a chief spokesman with the airline since 1991 in collective bargaining work rule negotiations with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) representing certain large bargaining units and assisted as key technical advisor and contract expert in other rounds of negotiations with Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) which included a Presidential Emergency Board and later  a 444 day labor dispute and strike settlement and ultimate voluntary decertification.  His contract negotiations experience also included active participation in Sec. 1113(c) bankruptcy negotiations with the IAM leading to significant labor cost restructuring agreements.  He served as management advocate in over 200 contract and disciplinary grievance arbitrations before the NWA/Air Line Pilots Association, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, AMFA, and IAM System Boards of Adjustment.

Prior to his airline experience, Mr. Ohm practiced in the labor law section of the litigation department at Dorsey and Whitney for four years, representing management clients primarily covered under the National Labor Relations Act.
