Jackson Lewis LLP Adds Partner in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, (February 4, 2010) Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced that Jay Adams Knight has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as Partner. He was formerly a partner with the Los Angeles law firm of Musick Peeler.

Mr. Knight advises corporate clients and tax-exempt entities across the country on the creation, administration and operation of qualified and non-qualified employee benefit plans. This includes the creation of employee retirement and welfare plans including 401(k) Plans; plan spin-off and mergers as a result of divestitures; and multimillion dollar plan terminations. He also advises clients and benefit plan administrators with respect to IRS and DOL audits, ERISA litigation, fiduciary obligations and benefit plan administration problems in debt restructuring and acquisitions and divestitures. Listed in the 2010 edition of “South California’s Best Lawyers” (American Lawyer Media), Mr. Knight has written and spoken extensively on employee benefit issues and is a former adjunct professor at Loyola Law School.

Mr. Knight is a graduate of the University of California Hastings College of Law and Claremont McKenna College. He is admitted to the California State Bar.
