Jackson Lewis Attorney Authors Employment Manual for Connecticut Employers

STAMFORD, Conn. (December 14, 2009) – Attorney Michael Soltis from the Stamford office of Jackson Lewis LLP – one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing employment law firms – has written and published The Connecticut Employment Law Manual, a comprehensive reference guide intended to assist private sector Connecticut employers define their rights and responsibilities under state law.

“Complying with one body of law can be challenging enough,” says Soltis, Managing Partner of the firm’s Stamford, Connecticut office.  “In the employment law field, federal, state, and - to a growing extent - local laws regulate the workplace.”

The manual breaks down a comprehensive list of various legal issues that regularly impact the workplace, such as wage and hour laws, employee privacy rights and anti-discrimination laws, into easy-to-digest explanations that aim to assist employers understand their rights.

Author Michael Soltis has represented employers in a wide range of employment and labor matters for more than thirty years, including advising and litigating matters involving just about every type of employment claim, including discrimination claims, family and medical leave claims, public policy and whistleblower claims, contract claims, and common law employment claims. He has negotiated more than a hundred collective bargaining agreements in a variety of industries and counseled numerous other employers, “away from the table,” through their collective bargaining.
