Jackson Lewis Expands Global Immigration Practice

NEW YORK, (Jan. 14, 2009) -- Jackson Lewis LLP – one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms – announced the addition of five lawyers to its Global Immigration Practice, significantly increasing the practice group’s bench strength. These new additions expand the Global Immigration Practice to include 35 multi-lingual attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff and enhance the firm’s immigration law resources in the Southeast and Southwest regions of the country.

In Las Vegas, corporate immigration specialty firm Jones Stevenson LLC moved its four-person practice to Jackson Lewis. Principals David S. Jones and Bryant L. Stevenson established their immigration boutique in 2007 after identifying Las Vegas as an underserved market in corporate immigration. The two partners quickly established reputations as authorities on immigration law, providing legal counsel to an array of clients including major national and international corporations, global entertainment groups, entrepreneurs, and the world's most accomplished artists, athletes and researchers. Jackson Lewis now has the largest corporate immigration law practice in the State of Nevada.

Mr. Jones said, “We are excited and honored to join the outstanding Jackson Lewis team.  With the resources, nationwide presence, and superlative reputation that Jackson Lewis enjoys, we look forward to establishing the firm’s regional immigration practice and developing its West Coast presence.” Las Vegas Resident Partner Gary C. Moss added, “In the Nevada legal community, this group has established sterling credentials and has built excellent relationships with colleagues and clients. We are delighted they joined us.”

Mr. Jones joins Jackson Lewis as a Partner and Mr. Stevenson as Of-Counsel. They are joined by associates Alexander Laird and S. Anthony Silva.

In the Atlanta office of Jackson Lewis, Raazia K. Hall has joined as a Partner and is the fifth new member of the Global Immigration Practice. She was formerly a Partner in the Business Immigration practice group of Ford & Harrison LLP. Ms. Hall is a standout attorney in the field of immigration law and primarily works with Fortune 500 companies on international staffing, workplace compliance and E-Verify guidance. She has been recognized in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and Georgia Super Lawyers: Georgia’s Rising Stars.

These five immigration law specialists are the most recent additions to the firm’s rapidly expanding Global Immigration Practice. In August 2008, Victor X. Cerda, joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Cerda served as Acting General Counsel, and Acting Director of the Office of Detention and Removal, for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security.

Firm-wide Managing Partner, Patrick L. Vaccaro, said, “We are pleased to welcome these new attorneys to Jackson Lewis. They will be a significant addition to our outstanding immigration team and a valuable resource to our clients. They will increase the depth and breadth of our practice and better position us to meet the immigration needs of U.S. and foreign-based employers.”
