Jackson Lewis Expands Seattle Office

SEATTLE, Wash., (December 12, 2007) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country's largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced today that David H. Black has joined the firm's Seattle office as Of Counsel.

In his position as Of Counsel, Mr. Black will practice and advise clients concerning complex labor and employment issues relating to compliance with equal employment, disability, leave and wage and hour laws, union and non-union disputes and many other labor law matters. In addition, Mr. Black will counsel employers trying to avoid litigation as well as represent clients being sued for discrimination, tort, and whistleblower claims and prosecute claims of employers for violations of non-compete and confidentiality agreements.

"David is a dedicated practitioner with over a decade of experience in management-side labor and employment law," says Wayne W. Hansen, managing partner of Jackson Lewis's Seattle office. "He brings with him successful trial experience as well as a solid record of advising clients on complex litigation matters."

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Black was the principal trial attorney and general counsel to corporate clients at his own firm, HR Juris, P.C. Before being an independent practitioner, Mr. Black practiced with Lane Powell in Portland, Ore., Bullen Moilanen Klassen & Swan in Jackson, Mich., and Miller Cohen Martens Ice & Geary in Southfield, Mich.

Mr. Black is an accomplished author and lecturer with numerous articles and speaking engagements to his credit. From 2000-2007, Mr. Black was an Instructor of an Employment Law Series at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. He's an active member of a number of organizations, including the Defense Research Institute., Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, Society for Human Resource Management, Portland Human Resource Management Association, Southwest Washington Human Resource Management Association, and the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Black is admitted to practice in Washington and Oregon. He received his J.D. in 1994 from University of Michigan School of Law and his B.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he was an Edmund I. Newhouse scholar and a Gulentz Scholar.
