Kelly C. Soltis is a senior eDiscovery attorney in the New York City, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She advises clients on eDiscovery issues relating to all phases of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model), from information governance and preservation to production. Her depth of knowledge in eDiscovery law and the technical aspects of the practice allows her to help clients understand their obligations and risks around electronic data.

Kelly is a Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS), Relativity Review Management Specialist, and Reveal Brainspace Certified Analyst. She assists clients with eDiscovery and electronic data management in litigation, arbitration, class actions, regulatory inquiries, subpoena responses, internal investigations, data subject access requests, and data breach reporting. She is also a Certified Informational Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and uses her knowledge of the EU’s GDPR and related laws to advise clients on international data management and cross-border data transfers in the context of eDiscovery.

Kelly understands the importance of understanding the details of an organization to provide high-quality legal advice in eDiscovery. She takes the time to learn about her client’s operations, culture, and people in addition to their IT systems and data relevant to each case. Kelly has a strong background in business operations and project management, and strives to ensure that her client’s eDiscovery matters are completed on time and under budget.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Kelly built her career at a multinational Fortune 100 company as the leader of their in-house eDiscovery team. While there, she led eDiscovery teams of up to 50 attorneys working on complex significant litigation matters worth over $100MM. She also helped established the company’s first international ESI vendor panel. As a student, Kelly held summer clerkships at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (“MCAD”) and the Office of the General Counsel of a Top 50 ranked private university, as well as a summer internship in the legal department of a Fortune 100 health insurance company.

During law school, Kelly was selected to participate in the Jessup International Moot Court and the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Law Moot Court Competitions. Her team won Best Memorial in the Jessup Northeast Regional competition, placed as overall Semi-Finalists, and Kelly was recognized as a Top 40 Oralist. She spent a law school semester in England studying international and European law at University College London’s Faculty of Laws; in college, she studied French and European laws and regulations for a semester in Strasbourg, France, at Institut International d’études Françaises de l’Université de Strasbourg.
