Jackson Lewis Adds Benefits Attorney Miriam R. Schindel in White Plains
WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 3, 2019) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Miriam R. Schindel has joined the firm’s White Plains office as a Principal. Ms. Schindel has more than 30 years of experience, primarily focusing on multiple entities in labor, employment, executive compensation and related benefits matters arising under ERISA.

Ms. Schindel represents multinational and domestic companies, and municipal entities, and advises clients about enterprise-wide service agreements; including IT and security agreements. She advises senior management and boards of directors on strategic employment and labor issues, and internal governance matters and policies.
Ms. Schindel has experience handling compliance matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Ms. Schindel has also represented clients before an array of federal and NY state regulatory authorities.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Schindel was Partner at Hinman, Howard, & Kattell, LLP. She also served as Deputy General Counsel of Unilever and Associate General Counsel of Sears & Roebuck.
Ms. Schindel is a frequent speaker before various professional groups including the New York State Bankers Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Conference Board, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the International Research Institute, and on WVOX talk radio.
Ms. Schindel earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, attended a Doctoral Program in Cognitive Linguistics at University of Connecticut, and earned her B.A. from Hunter College.
