Three Jackson Lewis Attorneys Named 2014 “Client Service All-Stars”

WHITE PLAINS, NY (February 6, 2014) – Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the largest workplace law firms in the world representing management, is pleased to announce Shareholders Stephanie M. Cerasano, Jane M. McFetridge and Margaret (Peggy) J. Strange have been chosen by clients as “Client Service All-Stars” in the BTI Consulting Group’s 2014 survey.  The survey identifies lawyers who demonstrate exceptional legal skills and client focus; deliver outstanding results and superior value; and understand, and share a commitment to achieving, their clients' business and legal objectives.

Ms. Cerasano is a Shareholder in the Phoenix office of Jackson Lewis P.C.  She has over 15 years of experience practicing exclusively in the area of employment law. A significant portion of her practice involves advising businesses in their day-to-day employment decisions. She also represents employers in federal and state court, as well as before administrative agencies, with particular focus in the areas of disability discrimination, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and wage and hour compliance. She has significant experience in preparing confidentiality and non-competition agreements, employment contracts, and personnel handbooks.

Ms. Cerasano has been recognized since 2008 as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the category of labor and employment law.  She served for many years as an Editor of the Arizona Employment Law Letter, published monthly by M. Lee Smith Publishers. She also authored the 2006 Arizona Employers Policy and Handbook Guide, which is available through M. Lee Smith.  Ms. Cerasano received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, cum laude, 1992, and her J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law, magna cum laude, in 1996.

Ms. McFetridge, who is the Managing Shareholder of the Chicago office of Jackson Lewis, was also named a BTI Client Service All-Star in 2011.  She has extensive experience litigating all forms of labor and employment matters throughout the Midwest.  Her practice covers the spectrum of employment litigation, including both state and federal claims, and individual and class action suits. Her class action, collective action, and multi-plaintiff experience includes both suits by private parties and by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She has broad experience dealing with the EEOC and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as state and local labor and employment agencies throughout the United States. She has an extensive appellate practice, including oral arguments before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Courts, and the Michigan Court of Appeals.  Ms. McFetridge also routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices including employment contracts and employee handbooks and policies. She conducts employee training seminars, harassment investigations, and frequently speaks on employment-related topics.

Ms. McFetridge is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, AV-Rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been consistently identified in Illinois Super Lawyers.  She has also been named a “Leader in her Field” in the Chambers USA Legal Guide since 2008.  Ms. McFetridge attended the Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1989) and received her undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois (B.S. 1980), with honors.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Strange, who is the firm’s National Client Practice Leader and a Shareholder in the Hartford Office, was also named a BTI Client Service All-Star in 2011. Ms. Strange manages national clients and works to enhance the firm’s representation of clients in this area.  Her practice covers the spectrum of employment litigation, including both state and federal claims, and individual and class action suits.  Her experience includes both suits by private parties and by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She has handled cases involving claims of race, age, disability, and sex discrimination, as well as sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, and wage and hour. In addition, she has successfully tried cases in state and federal court and prevailed in appeals before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and Connecticut Appellate Court.

Ms. Strange routinely counsels clients on a preventive strategies and a variety of employment practices including employment contracts, releases, employee handbooks and internal policies and practices.

Ms. Strange was awarded the “2012 Most Powerful and Influential Woman of Connecticut” award by the National Diversity Council  Ms. Strange was also named a “Leaders in Her Field” in the 2012 and 2013 editions of the Chambers USA Legal Guide. Ms. Strange was included in the 2013 and 2014 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® and has been recognized in New England Super Lawyers since 2007.  She received her undergraduate degree from Curry College (magna cum laude) in 1985 and graduated from Suffolk University Law School (cum laude) in 1990.
