Botana has been re-appointed to the Illinois State Advisory Committee (SAC) by the United States Commission on Civil Rights, a bipartisan agency charged with monitoring federal civil rights enforcement.

Each SAC is composed of citizen volunteers familiar with local and state civil rights issues. In his third term on the Commission, which will last for four years, Mr. Botana will continue to work with Committee members to identify and advise on regional civil rights issues.

“I greatly admire the Commission’s goal to inform about the development of national civil rights policy and enhance the enforcement of federal civil rights laws,” said Botana.  “I am honored to be re-appointed to my role and I thank Chairman Martin Castro for his continued confidence.  I look forward to working with my fellow SAC members and helping the Commission advance civil rights through investigation, research and analysis of issues of fundamental concern to the federal government and to the public.”

Mr. Botana represents management in employment cases in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies in a variety of employment and labor related claims.
