WHITE PLAINS, NY (March 27, 2024) — Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Michael L. Abitabilo has been elevated from office litigation manager (OLM) to office managing principal (OMP) in White Plains. Michael succeeds Joseph A. Saccomano, who is stepping down after 19 years of service. Jonathan M. Kozak will assume the role of OLM.
“Michael’s abilities as both an attorney and a leader make him the ideal choice to step into this role,” said Kevin Lauri, firm chair. “His guidance and dedication to delivering top-tier legal counsel will be crucial as we continue to grow our presence in the metro New York market. We’re confident he will build on the foundation Joe has laid, taking the White Plains office to new heights and further solidifying Jackson Lewis’ standing as a leader in employment law.”
In addition to his prior role as OLM, Michael represents employers in a wide range of employment litigation matters. His practice spans both state and federal courts, as well as key agencies, and he has been involved in several notable decisions defending clients against discrimination, harassment and other workplace-related claims. Michael also has extensive experience in both private and public-sector labor law, including handling collective bargaining negotiations, grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice disputes.
“I’m truly honored to take on this new role,” said Michael. “We have incredible talent in White Plains, and I’m committed to showcasing that to the broader region. Together, we will strengthen our team's presence and client service offerings as we continue raising the bar for excellence in the industry.”
Michael’s broad litigation practice also enhances his ability to provide proactive and strategic advice to employers facing workplace disputes. He counsels employers on matters such as employee handbooks and policies, wage and hour compliance, employee discipline, internal investigations and disability and leave management. Michael also frequently leads training sessions, helping attorneys, human resources professionals and business leaders navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes.
Michael earned his J.D. from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law and his B.A. from Marist College.
