NEW YORK, NY (December 21, 2016) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, sponsored and presented at Chief Executive’s CEO2CEO Digital Transformation Summit in New York City on December 6, 2016. The program offered the CEO community a day of collaboration to share observations and strategies for operating in the present rapidly evolving digital environment.
During the Summit, attendees heard from many industry leaders including Judith Dunn, Head of Innovation, Roche Innovation; Jim McCann, Founder & Chairman of the Board, 1-800-Flowers.com; Andrew Liveris, CEO & Chairman of the Board, Dow; and John Donovan, Group President and Chief Strategy Officer, AT&T; as they discussed The Real World of Digital Transformation, The CEO's Role in Leading Digital Transformation in an Established Business, and The Internet of Things: What CEOs Need to Know. Attendees left with many strategies to evaluate their organizations’ digital practices and data analytics use to maximize business potential.
The final panel of the Summit, The Digital Imperatives: Talent, Data and Security, featured Jackson Lewis’ National Director of JL Data Analytics, Eric J. Felsberg, who joined David Kenny, General Manager, IBM Watson, IBM; and Dean T. Stamoulis, Head of the Center for Leadership Insight, Russell Reynolds Associates; for a cutting-edge discussion of artificial intelligence and use of analytics in the business environment.
During this engaging presentation, Mr. Kenny talked of bringing cognitive capabilities to various product streams. Mr. Kenny’s comments prompted attendees to consider what impact the increasing wave of artificial intelligence developments will have on their businesses.
For those attendees considering launching their own digital initiatives, Mr. Stamoulis, who provides guidance to boards and CEOs about how to build leadership teams, offered his perspective on how digital transformation leaders, based on psychometric scales, possess certain attributes such as independent thinking, determination, and innovation. These observations helped attendees evaluate the talent they will need to build their own digital transformation teams.
Mr. Felsberg offered leading-edge insights on the manner in which analytics supplant intuition with data in workforce management. Using analytics, employers can reduce turnover, optimize recruiting and hiring practices, predict headcount needs and develop and retain employees. Mr. Felsberg also discussed that while the law is catching up with the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics, there are steps employers should take now to minimize the risk associated with these advanced initiatives.
With decades of experience studying the interplay between data analytics and the law, our multidisciplinary team of lawyers, data scientists and statisticians use sophisticated analytics tools to advise clients across multiple practice areas.
