Jackson Lewis Ranked a First Tier Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers

WHITE PLAINS, NY (September 22, 2010) – U.S. News Media Group and The Best Lawyers® announced that Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the fastest-growing workplace law firms in the United States, is ranked in the First Tier of the nation’s law firms for both employment law and labor law on behalf of management.  This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Jackson Lewis was named the “Employment Litigation Powerhouse” by BTI Consulting Group in their Litigation Outlook 2011 report.

57 Jackson Lewis attorneys were recently selected for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, which has long been considered one of the nation’s premier ranking guides for law firms.  This year, the publication partnered with U.S. News & World Report to produce the first-ever U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firm” rankings, which ranked firms in Tiers 1-4, with 1 as the best designation. Jackson Lewis was ranked Tier 1 nationally in Employment Law – Management and Labor Law – Management. Achieving a high ranking is a special distinction that signals a unique combination of excellence and breadth of expertise.

“It is a privilege and honor to be recognized as a First Tier firm in the U.S. News- Best Lawyers ‘Best Law Firms’ rankings,” said Vincent A. Cino, Jackson Lewis’ National Director of Litigation.  “We are very proud to receive this designation, especially on the heels of learning we were named ‘the single highest-ranked firm clients want by their side in employment battles’ in a nationwide survey conducted by BTI Consulting Group.”

Patrick L. Vaccaro, Firm-wide Managing Partner, added: “I could not be more proud of our firm and all of our attorneys who worked hard to maintain a “client-first” attitude.  Their efforts have been rewarded with these top rankings and neither distinction could have been achieved without the commitment and passion of every member of our nationwide team.  From the early days to now, it has been widely recognized that Jackson Lewis has the best pure-side labor practice in the country and it is very rewarding to see that our outstanding litigation practice is finally getting the recognition it deserves through the receipt of these two awards.”

Rankings were based on surveys completed by major clients and leading lawyers who were asked to rate the law firms they consider best in their practice area. A total of 9,514 clients – including every Fortune 100 company and more than half of all Fortune 1000 companies – and 8,842 lawyers completed surveys.
