LOS ANGELES, CA (January 7, 2021) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Nicky Jatana has been elevated to office managing principal in Los Angeles. Nicky succeeds Tyler A. Brown, who has stepped down to focus on his growing litigation practice.
“We are thankful for all of Tyler’s contributions as Los Angeles office managing principal as he returns to his busy practice in San Francisco,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “A valued and respected member of the firm for more than 20 years, Nicky was a natural choice for this position. She is an excellent attorney and a proven leader, and we congratulate her on this well-deserved elevation to lead our largest office.”
Nicky focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling for employers regarding daily workplace issues. She has significant trial and arbitration experience and has spent the majority of her career focusing on complex and class action litigation in wage and hour matters and alleged Fair Credit Reporting Act violations. Nicky frequently litigates wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and other labor and employment-related matters. Additionally, Nicky regularly conducts management training focusing on modern employment issues.
Nicky has experience working with in-house and outside general counsel, and maintains an impressive track record of efficiently solving the most complex issues facing employers today. She frequently represents employers in the retail, real estate, media and entertainment, restaurant, manufacturing, life sciences, transportation and banking industries, among others. Nicky practices in both state and federal courts and also before such tribunals as the EEOC, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Department of Industrial Relations - Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Since 2011, Nicky has served as our liaison for Jackson Lewis’ national relationship with the Association of Corporate Counsel, in addition to holding several key leadership positions at the firm, including a member of the firm’s Advisory Committee to the firm’s Board of Directors, co-chair of the Asian-American Resource Group and co-leader of the Privacy, e-Communication and Data Security practice group. As a longtime attorney at Jackson Lewis, Nicky is known as a passionate mentor of junior attorneys who enjoys creating a beneficial professional relationship with mentees to enhance their skills and help them advance on the path to a rewarding career.
