NEW YORK, NY (September 8, 2020) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has been named among the “Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother for the third consecutive year. Jackson Lewis was honored by the publication for its best practices in the recruitment, retention, promotion and development of women lawyers.
“We are extremely proud to once again be honored by Working Mother as one of the best law firms for women attorneys,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “Jackson Lewis strives to provide a culture of advocacy from the very beginning of women attorneys’ legal careers and create a model workplace for women to advance to Equity Principal and firm leadership positions. This recognition affirms our ongoing commitment to create a workplace that encourages women attorneys to achieve their professional and personal goals starting on their first day with the firm.”
The 2020 Working Mother “Best Law Firms for Women” application included almost 400 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women. Jackson Lewis was selected as a top firm based on key factors including the number of women in key leadership roles, support for re-entry mothers, relationships and mentoring programs, flexible work arrangements and paid parental leave.
“The achievement of women within our firm has been a key to our growth and success,” said Tanya A. Bovée, Managing Principal of the firm’s Hartford, CT office, member of the firm’s Board of Directors and D&I Liaison to the Board. “Maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment is a core value at Jackson Lewis and critical to our culture. Having a diversity of perspectives absolutely makes us a better firm.”
Jackson Lewis continues to be recognized by various organizations for its programs and initiatives supporting the advancement of women and diverse attorneys. The firm was recently certified as a “Gold Standard Firm” by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the ninth consecutive year and was ranked number five on The American Lawyer’s A-List: Female Equity Partner Scorecard, for its high percentage of women equity partners. Jackson Lewis was also recently honored for “Tipping the Scales” by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance for having 50 percent or more women elevated in its 2019 partner class. Additionally, the firm has a standing Diversity and Inclusion Committee divided into attorney resource groups, including the Women’s Interest Network and the Practicing and Parenting group that acts as a support network for parents, future parents, and allies.
