MIAMI, FL (January 11, 2009) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced that Jenna Rinehart Rassif and Natalie E. Norfus have joined the firm’s Miami office as Partner and Associate, respectively. Their hire follows the firm’s September announcement that well-known employment law attorneys Devand (Dave) A. Sukhdeo and TerRance Q. Woodard had joined the Miami office as Partner and Associate.

Ms. Rassif is Board Certified in Labor and Employment law and has extensive experience representing employers in virtually all areas of labor and employment law. Her litigation, counseling, and transactional practice includes defending claims arising in the workplace alleging discrimination and retaliation (Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, and whistleblower laws); violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act; and battery, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty (directors/officers), defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy. Ms. Rassif also specializes in drafting executive employment agreements, non-competes and other restrictive covenant agreements, as well as in advising on the enforceability of such agreements, and prosecuting and defending alleged breaches. She regularly trains and counsels employers comprehensively on day-to-day human resources decisions, including terminations and internal investigations.
Ms. Rassif is a frequent speaker to various business and professional associations on a number of labor and employment law topics. She is a member of The Florida Bar (Labor & Employment Law Section), the American Bar Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Greater Miami Society for Human Resource Management.
Ms. Rassif is admitted to practice law in Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals (Eleventh Circuit), and the U.S. District Court (Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida).
She received her law degree with honors from The George Washington University Law School and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
Ms. Norfus has successfully represented many clients in numerous labor and employment matters including grievance arbitrations, investigation of claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation, and the defense of employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims brought in state and federal courts. Ms. Norfus regularly advises clients on issues relating to non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and various other federal and state employment laws. She also develops employment policies and employee handbooks, as well as provides training on topics such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I-9 Compliance, Technology in the Workplace and Diversity, Anti-Harassment and Sensitivity in the Workplace. Ms. Norfus is admitted to practice law in Florida, Illinois and Ohio and the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and Northern District of Illinois). She is also a Regional Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the American Bar Association’s Trial Advocacy Competition.
