MIAMI (November 8, 2007) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country's largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced today that Tasos C. Paindiris has been named managing partner of the firm's Miami office. Mr. Paindiris was with the firm's Hartford office for 12 years before recently relocating to Miami.
"Tasos has been an extremely successful attorney and tremendous leader in our Hartford office," says Patrick Vaccaro, firm-wide managing partner of Jackson Lewis. "He was looking for a geographical change and we were looking for a new managing partner in Miami; it was a win-win situation."
Mr. Paindiris advises clients in many different areas of workplace law. His experience includes representing clients in a variety of forums, including state and federal court, state and federal departments of labor, state human rights agencies, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and the Workers' Compensation Commission.
He is a member of Jackson Lewis's Disability Management Practice Group, which assists employers in complying with the challenging array of federal and state laws that protect injured and ill employees, the most notable being the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. He is also a member of the firm's Affirmative Action and Wage & Hour Practice Groups.
Mr. Paindiris has successfully litigated cases alleging wrongful terminations, discrimination, the FMLA, violation of ERISA, and wage violations. He has also represented government contractors in affirmative action compliance reviews throughout the country.
Mr. Paindiris is a frequent speaker and trainer on a variety of workplace law topics. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law (1995) and his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University (1992).
