Jackson Lewis LLP Welcomes Allan M. Dabrow, Strengthens Philadelphia Presence

PHILADELPHIA (March 24, 2008) – Allan M. Dabrow has joined Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, as a partner in its Philadelphia office. A former member of the President’s Advisory Commission under the Drug Free Communities Act, Mr. Dabrow has more than 30 years of experience representing companies in a variety of labor/employment law matters. 

Mr. Dabrow’s addition is the latest indicator of rapid growth for Jackson Lewis’s Philadelphia office, which opened last September.  He joins resident manager and partner, Rick Grimaldi and partners Maria Petrillo and Robert Seiger in the Philadelphia office.

Formerly with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, PC, Mr. Dabrow has represented management before state and federal courts and agencies in such matters as sexual harassment, religion, age, race and sex discrimination, and other claims of discrimination arising out of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. He has also handled cases concerning state wage/hour statutes, CEPA and other whistleblower statutes; breach of contract; negligence; ERISA and retirement benefits. Mr. Dabrow has also counseled and guided management in the development of human resource strategies and programs, affecting training, hiring, termination, employment policies and practices, compensation and benefit programs, employment agreements and promotion.   In addition, Mr. Dabrow has practiced traditional management side labor law for over 30 years, including  involvement in collective bargaining, union organizing campaigns, NLRB proceedings, picketing, boycotts, corporate campaigns, grievance and arbitration procedures, labor and due diligence issues for mergers and acquisitions and a myriad of other matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act.

In 1999, Mr. Dabrow was appointed by President Clinton to serve as a Commissioner on the President’s Advisory Committee under the Drug Free Communities Act. He is a frequent speaker on and author of employment and labor law topics, including NLRA Limits on Confidentiality Policies, Labor and Employment Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions, and the Employee Free Choice Act.  

Mr. Dabrow is active in the community of Philadelphia and serves on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, including the Golden Slipper Club & Charities, Golden Slipper Health & Rehab Center, Golden Slipper Summer Camp, Golden Slipper Senior Care Foundation, the Walnut Street Theater and the Anti-Defamation League.

Mr. Dabrow is admitted to practice in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit , U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of the Trial Lawyers of America.

Mr. Dabrow received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Louisville, where he was managing editor of the Law Review. He received his B.A. in Business Administration from the College of Emporia.
