Jackson Lewis LLP Adds Partner in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 8, 2009)  Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, announced that Lori E. Halber has joined the firm’s Philadelphia office as a Partner. She was formerly a Partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP of Philadelphia, where she specialized in workplace and employment law.

Ms. Halber has extensive experience defending employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as common law restrictive covenants, breach of contract and wrongful discharge claims. She also defends clients in grievance and unfair labor practice claims.

In addition to her responsibilities at Jackson Lewis, Ms. Halber, who has deep roots in the Philadelphia region, is an adjunct professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and serves as co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section Immigration Committee. She is a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues such as best practices for hiring and terminating employees, attendance and leave issues, workers’ compensation laws, wage and hour disputes, harassment prevention, and conducting effective investigations.

Ms. Halber was listed in the “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star” 2007 edition, and in 2006, Legal Intelligencer named her a “Lawyer on the Fast Track.”

A Philadelphia native, she received her JD from Temple University School of Law, where she was awarded the Barrister Award for Trial Advocacy, and her bachelor’s degree concentrating in human resources and industrial relations management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Halber is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars.? She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and Third Circuits.
